The founders

JT Tapias

J.T. and Ana Maria grew up two blocks away from each other in their native Medellin, Colombia but met November 9th, 2013, at an Anthony Robbins seminar in Orlando, FL and heard Robbins talk about connecting to your passion and finding the right person. J.T. says he looked over and “There was this stunning woman.”

The two chatted during a break and exchanged telephone numbers. They dated four months before J.T. popped the question on May 28th, 2013, on the beach in front of the Don Cesar resort.

On this day, they shared their first kiss. On April 12th, 2014 they both embarked on a journey to create what J.T. had prayed for many times: a place where people could gather and have fun while they get in tip-top shape. This is how FITmethod 413 came to fruition. The name FITmethod 413 is inspired by the Biblical scripture Philippians 4:13, by which J.T. and Ana Maria live their lives: “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”

Ana Maria Tapias has a B.S. in business management and just like in her previous endeavor, where she helped create and establish a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Bal Harbor, Florida, she continues to infuse her creativity and spark into her business. Thanks to Ana Maria, FITmethod 413 operates with the solid structure, foundation, and efficiency of a Fortune 500 company.

JT Tapias was born in Medellin, Colombia, and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y.
From an early age, JT understood the value of health and fitness. He started practicing martial arts at age 5 and continued until age 12, when his mother realized that all of her household goods would be destroyed if he didn’t choose another sport. To her relief, soccer became his new passion.
JT’s rapid achievements in soccer led to the launch of a professional career at age 17, and many successful years playing for teams in Europe, Latin America, and the U.S.
Following his time as a professional athlete, JT created a dynamic fitness brand and company, and positioned himself as a regular contributing expert on television networks such as Fit TV and the Travel Channel.

JT Tapias

JT Tapias has a B.S. in Pastoral Counseling, and is currently working toward a Masters Degree in substance abuse and eating disorders. JT holds multiple certifications in fitness and personal training, nutrition, and life coaching. Among his accreditations are ACE, IFPA, NASM, IPEC
Certified Professional Life Coach (with specialization in health and wellness), and Certified Health Counselor.

At FITmethod 413, JT is raising the bar for the fitness industry by constantly refining and advancing his training model to help his clients achieve and maintain a healthy mind, body and spirit. According to JT, “There’s not a body without a mind, nor a mind that’s not guided by a spirit.
They both work together in direct correlation and harmony. I believe that this is the missing link to fitness. Most fitness professionals focus too much on the physical aspect, but neglect the significance of nutrition, and more importantly, totally ignore the mind, and the spirit.”
